COVID cases continue to grow in Geelong

The number of COVID cases continues to grow in Geelong and the Surf Coast after news the flu season is starting to wane.
State Health Data shows on Thursday there was 658 new cases for the City of Greater Geelong, taking the active tally to 2,939.
Across the state there is just under 70,000 active cases with 37 deaths in the last 24 hours, the number of fatalities from COVID since the pandemic began is 4,280.
The postcode of 3217 which takes in Armstrong Creek, Mount Duneed, Charlemont, Freshwater Creek currently has one case of COVID-19 for every 28 residents, up from one in 33 last week
Local suburbs of Point Lonsdale, Queenscliff, Swan Bay, Swan Island (Postcode 3225) has one case of COVID-19 for every 48 residents, up from one in 66 last week.
