Geelong, Surf Coast and Bellarine hospitality and entertiainment businesses will be boosted by the return of a popular Government funded cash-back scheme

The Victorian Dining and Entertainment Program is back until the end of the year.

The scheme, allows anyone with an Australian bank account to recieve cash back after enjoying dining or entertainment across Victoria

Eligible purchases must total at least $40, up to a limit of $500 and can include meals at restaurants, cafes and pubs, tickets to live music or art performances, and entries into museums, galleries and amusement parks.

Unlike previous instances, there’s no restrictions on days of the week.

You can submit multiple purchases, for example if you spend $80, you can recieve $20 cash back, and make further claims until you reach a total of $125 cash back.

Alternatively, if you spend $500 or more in one single purchase, you can claim the total $125 back in one application.

Submissions are taken online, and will continue until December 17, or when the $25 million dollar funding has been exhausted.

Minister for Industry Support and Recovery Ben Carroll said the program boosts the state’s economy

“Whether it’s booking a table for lunch or heading to a live music event, this cash-back program puts money back into people’s pockets and supports hardworking businesses across Victoria.”

“This program also helps build business and consumer confidence, while supporting jobs and boosting the state’s economy.”

Minister for Sport, Tourism and Major Events Steve Dimopoulos said the timing is perfect

“With a blockbuster summer of major events upon us, we’re providing Victorians even more reasons to get out and enjoy everything the state has to offer – while saving money and supporting local businesses.”
