In devastating news just hours before the bounce, Max Holmes has been ruled out, according to Peter Ryan from The Age.

Holmes had been facing a race against the clock after injuring his hamstring in Geelong’s convincing win over Brisbane

At the Grand Final Parade on Friday, Cat’s coach Chris Scott said there were three in contention for Holmes’ spot if he wasn’t 100% fit

Now the decision will likely be between Brandan Parfitt or Mark O’Connor  to make the 18, while Parfitt and O’Connor, along with Sam Menegola and Jonathon Ceglar are in contention to be named as medical substitute, announced an hour before the first bounce.
