The Geelong Sharks Rugby League Club is hosting a come-and-try day on Saturday.
In its inaugural year, the club is hosting the event at Ervin Reserve in Newcomb from 11am, and again on Saturday January 21.
Spokesperson Kristie Davis said the club has seen plenty of interest and is looking forward to a big year
“We’re looking forward to seeing children of all skills and abilities aged between five to 18 to try Rugby League”
“We established the Facebook page to put the word out there in the middle of (last) year, and the interest that we did get was very good”
Ms Davis says there should be no concerns around the safety of the sport either
“There won’t be any tackling until under 14s so it’s non-contact for the little kids then they develop the skills and grow from there”
