Mussel Fest returns!

Seafood lovers are rejoicing as the Portarlington Mussel Festival returns after a COVID hiatus.

After launching in 2007 to promote the local mussel industry, and growing into one of the most popular community festivals in Victoria, the event was put on hold during the pandemic.

The event returns this weekend, thanks to the work of dedicated volunteers, who’ve helped raise nearly $250,000 for community initiatives.

The event includes music all day, hundreds of market stalls, and of course, delicious, fresh, local mussels!

Committee Member John Smith said Portarlington is known as the Australian Capital for the Blue Mussel

 

 

 

The event is on at Portarlington Park from 9:30am-5pm.
