Naming rights boost for Roos

ANAKIE has joined the long list of local clubs that have secured a naming rights sponsor for their playing venue.
The ‘Roos, undergoing a multi-million dollar upgrade of the social rooms, has done a deal with Altona North-based business AA Semi-Trailers.
“AA Semi-Trailers has been an ongoing sponsor, and this year they wanted to help with the club’s contribution towards their new social construction,” president Heath Menhennet said.
“With works due to be complete in late May 2023, the club’s normal revenue streams have reduced from not having an operational kitchen and bar.
“The club will also need to supply items not covered in the $2.6m budget for the facilities completion.”
The upgraded facility will feature a kitchen, gym, bar, cool room, unisex accessible amenities, a timekeepers space and an administration office.
“We know the club through my business relations with Heath and see the value it provides in the small country town,” AA Semi-Trailers owner Andrew Bouzinelos said.
“With numerous clubs throughout Victoria merging or ceasing operations, our support is paramount to Anakie Football Netball Club continuing into their 98th year.”
Anakie will meet Riddell and District League club Melton Centrals in its first practice match on Saturday before opening its 2023 season at Myers Reserve against Bell Post Hill on April 1.
