Watch and Act: Prepare to evacuate

VicEmergency is encouraging those located in the Eastern View Memorial Arch area to consider leaving early, or at least leave by 6am Saturday morning.
There is a bushfire north of Eastern View that, despite being under control, could flare up today with wind gusts between 60-70km/h forecast.
The bushfire could impact the are between 6:00am Saturday and 2:00pm Saturday.
Extreme fire danger rating has been declared for the region, along with a Total Fire Ban for the entire western-half of the state.
It is strongly recommended that you Prepare to Evacuate.
What you should do:
You should pack:
- Cash
- Clothing for three days
- Medicine for three days
- Phone and chargers
- Toiletries
- Important documents
- Momentos and photos
- Pet essentials, including leash and carriers.
- If possible, make sure your neighbours are aware of the situation and check if they need help.
- Check the VicRoads website for road closures.
- Be aware of any road closures when you leave.
You should leave when you are ready. Don’t wait to be told when to leave.
Where to go:
- You can go to friends or family in a safer location.
Impacts in your area:
- The bushfire is currently under control.
- Embers can be carried by the wind over large distances ahead.
