Aussie skipper Meg Lanning has belted a quick-fire 39 to help her Delhi Capitals into the final of the inaugural Women’s Premier League in India

The Capitals’ five-wicket win over UP Warriorz relegated the Warriorz to a qualifying final against Mumbai Indians for the chance to play Delhi in Sunday’s final.

The Warriorz was put into bat ending up with 6/138 off 20 overs, with the help of Tahlia McGrath’s unbeaten 32 from 58.

Fellow Aussie, but opposition bowler Jess Jonassen took 1/24 for the Capitals

“For us to finish top of the table is obviously a huge advantage, we get a few days off and get straight through to the final,” she said

“I’m incredibly proud of the girls and how we’ve come back from a few setbacks.”

“One job is done, we’re through to that final, but one more big game to go.”

Lanning’s 39 off 23 had the Capitals always ahead of target with further run-a-ball knocks from Alice Capsey and Marizanne Kapp getting them to the target with more than two overs to spare.
